I found this book to be opposite of most, meaning I was hooked in the beginning and lost interest quickly after. I thought the plot was good; however, I did not think it was well written. The stores jumped around too much and the characters were not consistent. I also found myself wondering what time period it was based in even though it called out recent years (2006). There were a lot of typing errors (missing words even) that I feel should have been caught. I tried looking for the book but it doesn't show up anywhere. The info popped on my FB newsfeed and was interesting. I tried searching Amazon and Apple Books. I looked up the author and title but neither exist. Can someone direct me to where I can find it. Thanks

The storyline itself was really quite good, but the writing of it was so stilted and awkward that it really made it hard to enjoy. Plus you have to pay a separate fee for each chapter you read and the book becomes more expensive than buying it in hardback.
But back to the story... Alice is a hardworking girl that is trying to take care of her brother and pay for his much needed heart surgery. She sees an ad for a billionaire searching for a wife and decides to interview. Alice finds out soon that she is in way over her head with the Maslow family. She and Gideon seem to come to some understanding of their roles, but Alice gets a little too curious and family secrets start to unfold. And so does the romance...
A few of my issues with the book - writing was very rudimentary and the characters were no well developed. The story wasn't rich and in depth - just kind of "this happened then this." The editing was abismal. This author desperately needs an editor. Too many little convenience "all of the sudden they were in love," moments. Just some weird oddly placed nuances that made me shake my head.

Honestly it wasn't a bad story. It has 40 chapters and really covers half a year in time, but there were several typos and storyline plot holes. New characters were brought in and seemed to know the MCs, but we were never given any information on them or why they were there. The story goes from the female pov to the males pov, but you have to read to figure out whose pov it is currently as there are rarely any indicators (I think I saw 1 chapter) that said whose pov was being used. Holiday easy read, you slide through the chapters to see where it is going, a little bit predictable, but it was ok and I liked it.

"Money was not what made you rich, it was family and the number of people who loved and supported you unconditionally that made you rich. Money would come and go depending on time, but family and friends stayed forever.

And that was the true wealth."

I found this on Facebook and read it through a site called inkitt. The site was awful to use as it did not change chapter seamlessly.
It was a quick easy read but it is in need of some serious editing and proofreading. It was full of errors which sometimes made it difficult to read.
I felt that sometimes storylines were mentioned then not mentioned again which, for me left holes in the plot leaving some weak characters. With some tweaks it has the potential to be a good book.

This book reminded me a little of Beauty and the Beast. The castle they lived in had forbidden floors, and secrets to be uncovered. The story itself was excellent. I really enjoyed the book. Although, I believe the story could have been expanded upon. There was potential to add more to it. There were many grammatical errors. I would read more from this author.

My six-word memoir: Emotionally crazy family, love, money, belonging.
Reading this book was a new kind of experience for me as it was a young adult/romantic book and I don't read much of those genre. I liked the grit and determination of the protagonists. The relationship curve was very good. All the family drama made me turn the pages. The only downside was that I found the story predictable.

This first chapter of this book popped up as a sponsored link on Facebook. Once I read it I was hooked and decided to find the full story. As I started reading the story I realized that it definitely needed some work. There were a lot of mistakes and a lot of unanswered questions. Was really good, a page turner. However the writer had grammar and spelling errors. I read 10 chapters a day for the first 2 days then 2 - 4 chapters a day. I used to not have time to read and this story got my interest and kept it!

The plot was bland. The guys were incredibly insulting and controlling. If his wife didn't eat her lunch in the time he gave he would leave work to spoon feed her and she would be grounded. She was supposed to be strong willed and independent but the second he wasn't happy she would curl up and apologize until he was ok again. She even thought of killing herself because he got mad at her, the girl that was forced to marry a stranger in the first place. Nothing about this book is healthy or happy, except how everything magically all snapped together and they all become a big happy family some how.

It had such a good set up for a beauty and the beast type story but missed it completely. Complete waste of time reading this.

The book was fraught with errors unfortunately. It was based in London (UK) but the main storyline was that the main character was trying to get money to pay for her brother's heart surgery. The author clearly doesn't have a grasp on British English or in fact life in Britain at all and therefore the use of all these 'americanisms' made it completely unrealistic to read. The character development was also poor and I found the behaviour and attitude of the main characters completely non realistic to be honest. One minute the husband was happy and pleasant the next he was angry really for no reason at all. He would fly off the handle at silly things but in a way that was completely non believable. Lastly, the amount of grammar/spelling mistakes and even missing/wrong words took away from the experience of reading the book. The storyline has potential (perhaps better to be based in the US if using the premise of saving up to pay for medical treatment). However, it really needs A LOT of work. ...more

Well I have started this and while the writing is engaging, so far it has made me cross - cleary the author has zero knowledge of the U.K. and has done zero research.

You want the surgery cost to be a thing? Base it in the USA where it as least has a slight ring of feasability... But why let a little thing like that stand in the way of a mediocre story?

I don't think I will bother with the rest.

The author is definitely a novice, but she is able to lure i. readers from page 1, because we want to know how things work out for the main character. I wish there was more character development. Overall the story isn't terrible, but any admiration of the story is sometimes hampered by grammar and spelling errors. The romance scenes were clumsy. It's a quick read, with a sweet ending reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast, minus the curse plus pompous toxic masculinity and a tinge of abuse. The story is really good. I really enjoyed the few chapters I've been able to read, it's hard to wait for the next chapter to be unlocked. The only thing I am upset is when you are waiting for the chapter to be unlocked YOU NEED to keep the page OPEN or the TIME WILL STOP until you log again; meaning that if it shows that you've been waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes you log in later on again and it will tell you another time; meaning you have to wait longer. that's really wrong..

I really loved the concept of how the story unfolded. I would say the only criticism I have is that maybe more research is needed for writing a novel based in England from an American perspective. In the UK we don't have certain things like high school, cell phones and most castles don't have more then two or three floors. It would have to be a specially built castle to have seven or more floors. Other than that I loved the story and how the ending came together I really loved the concept of how the story unfolded. I started reading the story on a Facebook ad and was intrigued. I was hoping for an easy ready and a beautiful love story; however, this book had no character development. It barely has a plot, and the writing and editing is awful. I finished it, because I like to finish what I start, but omg is it bad. I rate it less than 1 star.

Painful to read. It was like reading something written by a 3rd grader who doesnt speak english fluently.
The plot was garbage....character development was all but nonexistent. And what the hell is with physical violence towards women being condoned?
I cannot even with this book. What a colossal waste of time.

I honestly have no idea why I read this thing... It sounded and looked like it had been written by a child—and do not get me started on the MOUNTAIN of Grammatical errors. The entire thing was like watching a train wreck, I wanted to look away, but the destruction and mayhem were too much for me to walk away from.

I liked the start of the book. Made it to chapter 7 and find out you have to pay to read the book. Scrolling to find out it will cost even more. It would have been nice to know there was a fee up front. It would have been even better to know the total cost. Too rich for my taste. Too bad the read had promise.
